The sun came out today to interrupt weeks of rainy miserable weather, so to celebrate I did the following back yard WOD.
Five rounds for time,
50 Double unders 400m run (once round the block) 10 x 24kg overhead kettlebell swings 10 x 20kg overhead kettlebell clean and press (each arm) 10 x 20kg kettlebell snatch (each arm) 20 x push-up 10 x pull-up
Still damn cold out but after the first round I didn’t notice and I was quite thankful for it after the third round.
I’m really struggling right now with the fact that I’m natural. I’ve got used to the fact that I’ve got to put a damn sight more work in than younger lifters for the same gains… but I don’t really have to.
I didn’t start lifting until relatively late on in my life and the idea was always becoming everything I could be rather than everything science could make me. As I’ve gained more experience I’ve started to realise just how much my age is handicapping me.
Amazing advances in NMAAS, HGH, IGF, GHRH, etc. mean that it’s all relatively easy and safe these days to enhance. I really do question why I don’t.
Anyone want to play my good conscience?
Progress report: I have now signed a contract for a house.
Alert level: Brown
Oh crap I hope this goes ok. This will be the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought by quite a long way.
So I spent a bit of today going through some of my fathers old papers and, unbeknownst to me, had paid for and received one of those genetic tests where they plot your ancestry. I figure, if it’s true for him then it’s true for me too.
Turns out I’m from Haplogroup I-M253, and after a bit of figuring out that basically makes me descended from Vikings.
This may be the source of my awesome beard growing skills.
